Building Trust and Relationships
Joyee Washington, MS, MPH, CHES
Just finished listening to this webinar with Leonore Okwara, MPH. Great information on community engagement strategies in research. Particularly enjoyed the information on building trust and relationships with community members as well as sustainability.
Breadth and Depth of Knowledge
Jessie Wong, PhD
Leonore used her breadth and depth of knowledge about research planning to ask questions about design features I had never thought of and directly address potential issues related to IRB, participant enrollment and retention, and other logistics that are critical to effective research and data integrity. In fact, my research plan was developed to include trouble-shooting and contingency plans.
While the process of working with and learning from Leonore was valuable in itself, the greatest benefit of this experience was that it yielded an exceptionally comprehensive, organized, and user-friendly project management plan.

Wonderful summit! Thank you to all the knowledge presenters/speakers. I thoroughly enjoyed the summit and learned a lot that will serve me well as Family Medicine resident and physician who wants to be engaged with the community.
Extremely Informative
Research in Communities of Color Summit Attendee, MPH Student
Extremely informative. This is is my 3rd semester in my MPH program and many of the topics were new for me and some I was familiar with. Thank you for providing such a broad range of public health professionals that were able to give their expertise on the various subjects. I look forward to next year!
